My changed aspect of leadership
Before I was in leadership class, I thought leaders were born, not made. I thought you have to have the genetics and the the out-going personality that the most people consider are "leaders." But that perspective of where a leader comes from definately changed for me, studying the different examples that we encountered during our first seven classes. Before I was in the class I thought I could never be a leader because I thought I didn't have the DNA of a leader. From what I learned, a leader is not born with the ability to lead, but the practice and desire to lead. So now, I see myself as a potential leader in the Parish community. The people around me, my friends, peers, teachers, and parents from what I now see all have different expectations of what a leader really is. There are many different forms of leaders that are developed throughout the world. An obvious example is coach Nady, a leader of a football team and a very well respected man through many peoples eyes. A CEO, being a leader of a company. Lastly, an ordinary student, which having the desire to lead and to make a difference, also makes another leader.

Griff,
ReplyDeleteI think you make a really good point in your blog. I believe that you, and probably many others in this class, like myself, feel that at first they could not be a successful leader. But after joining this class, and like yourself, I feel that I can be a good leader after learning the principles of solid leadership. Great post and keep up the good work. :)
I am proud of you Griffin, you are really coming along in this class. You have pulled out the deeper meaning of what it means to be a leader and you are starting to see the leader in yourself. Now you see that you have the potential to do something great, don't be afraid to step up and be the leader you know you are. Good job!
ReplyDeleteBetter post here, Griffin. As we continue our journey, you will be asked to identify what pasions and interests you have. Once you explore these, you can find the "space" in which you can lead by bringing the traits we have discussed to this point to bear. Nice post here. Your best so far.
