Goleman Quote Reflection

The Goleman quote is using an analogy for a one-winged creature for to relate to that a bird can't fly with one wings, but needs both wings to succeed to fly. One wing, heart and head, is the desire and the confidence to lead. The other wing, which is necessary for the bird to fly, feeling and thought, are the abilities to be aware of the surrounding of the community in which we work in, and the thought of making the best for the community. Without either of these two wings, A leader can not be the best to its potential. An example of these attributes is on a team, where a team captain has to have the desire and the confidence to lead, and have the relationship and the judgment of the community surrounding him. Without the desire and confidence, the leader will not succeed, and without the awareness and the thought, the leader likely will not succeed. With both wings, the leader has all attributes in which can help a leader to succeed.

  1. Griffin,

This is one of your best posts! It conveys a clear idea and your grammar, punctuation, etc. are solid. Your M-B post is honest -- I think how you found something you agreed with and something you found surprising. That post could have used a proofread as it has some typos and other issues. In all, though, good reflections. I want to work with you to get the VT to show publically. Right now you have it closed so I can not watch it all the way through. I saw enough of it when you did it to know you did a really nice job on the exercise. Remember to update this Credo each year!

  2. Griffin, you did a really good job at explaining the meaning behind the quote. I liked how you kept using the wings as a way to explain that you need both heart and head at all times. Good Job!
